Goodbye...

The year of 2024 has not been kind to me. After throwing everything I had into building a new life in Europe, because of a break up that shattered me, I lost my job. I had to come back to the United States and start all over. I needed to figure out where home was. I was in an insane amount of debt, and the job market for Video Producers was non existent. When I figured out home was where my best friends (my grandparents) were, my grandfather suggested I try to find work where I would keep a certain Presidential candidate out of office. I thought his idea was ridiculous but somehow he's always right. I took the job working on the Harris campaign because I believe in the idea that "We all belong in the Preamble". I didn't sleep for 3 months while I worked and then volunteered with incredible people that believed in saving the soul of this country. Unfortunately, not enough people shared my vision. I had relatives telling me that losing autonomy over my body was something to celebrate. Trying to convince me that I should be happy that the lives of people I loved and cared about were now in jeopardy.

I spent a few weeks after the election figuring out how I wanted to spend my free time. I knew my time working on this blog and having to figure out social media strategies for showcasing my gluten free lifestyle was not a task I could continue doing on my own anymore. Just when that realization hit, I was diagnosed with diabetes. My A1C was at a 9.4, which is....not very good. Getting diabetes is not the end of the world. It's treatable. But having Type 2 diabetes in particular has a stigma attached that I had to crawl out of. I didn't do anything wrong, I hate as healthily as I could and did not have a weight problem. This is just another wonderful side effect of having celiac disease. But it was still overwhelming to figure out where to start on my new diet. In my research I saw how there were so many resources out there for people that have celiac disease and diabetes that my voice was not needed in this arena. So although I'll do what I can to post about different restaurants I've experienced, this is the end of the road for Eat Explore Love The Podcast and probably the blog as well. In a future post, I will share my favorite influencers that can provide all the information in a way I wish I could.

But thank you to everyone that has been willing to follow my journey around the world. You're all caught up now on my adventures. I'm so thankful for all that 2024 took away, and gave me. I'm ready to go into 2025 with a purpose, and acting of service for the rights of all.

I hope you enjoy my last posts wrapping up 2024...and Eat. Explore. Love.
