"The atmosphere here is a cross between the Munich beer festival and the coliseum at Rome" Exploring Munich
Walking Tour of Munich - GuruWalks
My tour guide for this was Charlie and he was incredibly kind and great at giving you a great introduction to Munich.
Dachau
Through Get Your Guide I did a half day tour at Dachau. The museum there didn't provide me a lot of insight or information I didn't already know about the Holocaust. But, Dachau was a very moving memorial site and gives you a general idea of concentration camps during this time period. But if you're going, please don't bring your toddlers or infants. Also, don't go to make a social media moment of it. Remember what happened there.
Altes Rathaus
I passeed by this a million times and kept missing the entrance. It's 6 euros and to be honest, unsure if it's worth the ticket.
Glockenspiel
It's in Marienplatz and you will find it playing at 11 am and 12 pm in the winter. In the summer it plays at 11 am, 12 pm, with an additional show at 5 pm.
Third Reich and WW2 Walking Tour - Get Your Guide
It was an interesting tour hearing about the beginnings of the Nazi movement and their attempts in overthrowing the government.
Juliet Capulet Statue
It's very similar to the statue in Verona! Unsure why they had one in Munich but was really nice to see!
Asamkirche
This is a really beautiful church you should check out the inside of! Really intricate and detailed in the design it's quite amazing.
Neuschwanstein Palace
If you take a train from Munich to Fussen, then take a bus to Neuschwanstein you'll be able to hike up to the palace that evidently inspired the design for the Disneyland castle!
Tollwood Music Festival.
It was a fun way to spend New Years Eve. I have to say, I got there at 9:30 PM and it was too early (for me). I feel like I could have shown up at 11:00 PM and have a great time!
